The police said the deceased has been identified as M. Thanigaivel. A decade ago, his wife ended her life. Thanigaivel fell in love with K. Vijayalakshmi, a native of the same village, and married her. However, they had differences of opinion.

Immediately, passersby took Thanigaivel to the Government Medical College Hospital in Tiruvannamalai, where doctors declared him brought dead.
A case was registered by Moranam police. Special police teams nabbed Raja from his hideout in the village.
