The goods and public transportation have come to a grinding halt on the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border as the backwaters of the Sabari river inundated Kalleru-Koyaguru road on the outskirts of Chintoor in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, on Thursday (August 21). The Chintoor Agency shares a border with Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
The operations of the public transport vehicles, plied by the private operators of Odisha and Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC), have been stopped at Motu Bridge.Â
The vehicles transporting goods from Odisha to Telangana via Bhadrachalam and Andhra Pradesh via Rajamahendravaram were seen stranded near Koyaguru-Kalleru point on the Odisha front. However, there is no impact on the vehicular movements on the Chintoor-Bhadrachalam and Chintoor-Sukma route to Chhattisgarh.
