World and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nitu Ghanghas, Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain, and World Champion Saweety Boora were the standout performers on the final day of the Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament here on Tuesday.

Nitu emerged victorious in the 48kg category following a 4-1 win against Chanchal in the final, while Saweety defeated Alfiya 5-0 to take the top step of the podium in the 80kg category. Lovlina, meanwhile, bagged the gold in the 78kg category following Lashu Yadav’s withdrawal.

Local favourite Nikhat Zareen, however, pulled out of the event due to injury, ahead of her bout with Jyoti in the 51kg final.
