The Hyderabad police on Thursday (June 3, 2025) issued a stern warning against an unauthorised protest announced by the Unemployed Joint Action Committee (JAC), which plans to lay siege to the Telangana Secretariat on Friday (July 4, 2025).
In an official statement, Central Zone DCP K. Shilpavalli clarified that no permission has been granted for the proposed gathering and termed it illegal. Authorities expressed concern over potential law and order disturbances that could arise from the protest.
“The proposed gathering is unauthorised and illegal, and there is a likelihood of law and order issues arising due to such an assembly. Any attempts to disrupt public order will lead to registration of criminal cases and legal consequences,” the statement read.
Appealing directly to students and job aspirants, the police urged them not to participate in the protest. They warned that involvement in such activities could lead to criminal charges that might jeopardise future career prospects.
“Read and rise, don’t riot,” the police concluded, calling on citizens to seek redressal through legal and peaceful means.
