The Hyderabad traffic police produced 105 persons accused of drunk driving before a Nampally court over the past two days. A fine totalling ₹2.39 lakh was imposed on the offenders.

The Hyderabad traffic police produced 105 persons accused of drunk driving before a Nampally court over the past two days. A fine totalling ₹2.39 lakh was imposed on the offenders.

These persons were arrested from Abids, Chikkadpally and Saifabad were counselled before being presented in court.

According to officials, 75 offenders were each fined ₹2,100, while another 12 were fined ₹3,100 each. One person received a Court Rising sentence, meaning detention until the court’s session ended, along with a fine of ₹3,300. In more serious cases, 17 persons were sentenced to court jail and fined a cumulative ₹41,000, according to Mohan Kumar, Traffic Assistant Commissioner of Police for the Central zone.
