L-G approves extension of 410 part-time vocational teachers

Lieutenant-Governor V.K. Saxena has approved the Education Department’s proposal to extend the tenure of 410 part-time vocational teachers (PTVTs) in Delhi government and government-aided schools from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, Raj Niwas said on Tuesday. The government has sanctioned ₹36 crore for the remuneration of PTVTs, said an official. In its proposal, the department had said that the number of PTVTs was declining steadily due to retirements and lack of fresh recruitment, and the extension of the existing teachers was necessary “for continuity in skill education”.
