NTR Trust Managing Trustee Nara Bhuvaneswari has strongly condemned the derogatory comments made against Kovvur MLA Prashanthi Reddy, calling them a reflection of a deeply disturbing and anti-woman mindset.

In a statement on X on Wednesday (July 9, 2025), Ms. Bhuvaneswari expressed unwavering solidarity with the MLA, asserting that such language has no place in a civilised society. “I stand in solidarity with Kovvur MLA Prashanthi Reddy and firmly condemn the derogatory remarks made against her. Such statements expose a deeper, troubling anti-woman mindset within the institutions they come from, and they have no place in our society,” she said.

Highlighting the strength and integrity women bring to leadership, Ms. Bhuvaneswari said, “Women lead with strength, integrity, and merit. Derogatory words can’t diminish our worth or break our spirit.” She added that Indian culture has always upheld the dignity of women and that any attempt to undermine that must be collectively rejected.

“This is not just about one individual — it is about protecting the dignity of every woman who dares to lead, speak, and serve. Today and always, we stand united against this mindset and strongly support every woman’s dignity,” Ms. Bhuvaneswari affirmed.

The statement comes amidst widespread outrage over offensive comments made by YSRCP leader N. Prasanna Kumar Reddy against MLA Prashanthi Reddy, drawing support from leaders across parties and civil society who are calling for accountability and a cultural shift toward greater respect and gender equality.
