The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Tuesday (July 8, 2025) removed encroachments on a 1,094-square-yard public utility site in Hyderguda, Rajendranagar mandal of Rangareddy district. The land, meant for park and community use, was part of an approved layout developed by the AG Office Cooperative Housing Society as the Nalanda Nagar Colony in 2001.
Local residents of Nalanda Nagar alleged that parts of their public space were gradually encroached by the erstwhile owners claiming it as part of their land abutting the layout. Following complaints, HYDRAA conducted a detailed inquiry and confirmed the encroachment. During the clearance drive, a boundary wall and a temporary shed were demolished despite protests from the encroachers, who attempted to obstruct the operation, a statement from HYDRAA said. Rajendranagar Police intervened and detained those involved.
