A 33-year-old habitual burglar has been arrested by the South West Zone Task Force, along with the LB Nagar Police.

Identified as Jaganatham Prabhu, a mason by profession, the accused is alleged to have carried out a string of house break-ins at night, stealing gold ornaments and cash from homes across LB Nagar, Uppal, and Mailardevpally. The police recovered 366.96 grams of stolen gold ornaments from his possession.

The recovered property includes necklaces, earrings, rings, bangles, bracelets, and other gold items linked to at least three ongoing criminal cases. A loan receipt from a gold finance company was also seized.

“Prabhu had been previously arrested in several property offences across Cyberabad, including at Shamirpet, Rajendranagar and Narsingi police station limits. Though he was released on bail as recently as May 2025 following a property offence arrest by Narsingi police, investigators say he resumed his criminal activities shortly after,” said an officer from the task force.

Prabhu has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2013, involving house break-ins, theft, and criminal conspiracy.
