Three including assistant film director held

Seven Wells Police on Friday arrested three persons including an assistant director for allegedly possessing a high-quality ganja.

The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) received an intelligence input on the drug peddlers in Seven Wells Police Station limits. Immediately, the ANIU officers coordinated with the local police to trace and nab the offenders and launched a search operation. They mounted surveillance near Periyanna Street and intercepted three persons who were moving in a suspicious manner.

On searching their personal belongings, police seized ganja from them and arrested three men who have been identified as Shri Premkumar, 32 of Tondiarpet, Rajan, 36 of Wimco Nagar and Alex Santhosh, 34 of Broadway. 750 grams of OG ganja were seized from them.

One of the accused Shri Premkumar has been working an assistant director in Tamil film industry. Efforts are on to trace the accused who have been absconding in the case, said police.
