Two educational institutions – St. Stephen’s College and St. Thomas School – received bomb threat e-mails on Tuesday morning, which later turned out to be hoaxes.

It comes a day after three schools in the national capital received similar hoax bomb threat e-mails.

A call was received by St. Stephen’s College of Delhi University regarding a bomb threat e-mail at 7.15 a.m., said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia. A similar call was also received by the St. Thomas School in Dwarka.

The officer said teams comprising Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Services, and bomb disposal squads were rushed and they thoroughly checked the premises of both the institutions but found nothing.

Meanwhile, targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a post on X, said, “What is happening in Delhi under the BJP rule? On Monday, two schools received bomb threats. On Tuesday, yet another school and a college were threatened. Children are terrified, and parents are deeply anxious. The BJP’s four-engine governments have failed completely.”

The Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, said the situation was “deeply alarming.” “Do they care nothing for the safety of children? Law and order in Delhi has collapsed”, she wrote on X.

Responding to the allegations, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said AAP was trying to “politicise” the matter. “Such bomb threats to schools and airlines are a matter of concern, but political parties around the world do not do politics on such issues; rather, they cooperate with security agencies. But in our country, there are petty leaders like Arvind Kejriwal who make petty statements even on such a sensitive issue,” Mr. Sachdeva said in a statement.
