Hyderabad has secured sixth position in the Swachh Surevekshan rankings for the year 2024-25, under the Swachh Bharat Mission of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The ranking was among 44 other cities in the Million Plus category. The first five ranks went to Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Lucknow, Raipur and Jabalpur.
Hyderabad secured a score of 100% in the criteria of Door-to-Door Collection of Waste; Waste Generation vs Processing; Remediation of Dump Sites; Cleanliness of Residential Areas; Cleanliness of Market Areas; Cleanliness of Water Bodies and Cleanliness of Public Toilets. It scored lower at 93% only in Source Segregation.
