“In the first phase, 52 history sheeters were externed. In the second phase, it was 31 and now in the third, externment orders have been issued against 22 history sheeters,” he said.

The Police Commissioner said that four history sheeters each under Bendigeri and Kasabapet police limits, three from Old Hubballi, two each from Hubballi Suburban and Dharwad stations and one each from Ashok Nagar, Vidyanagar, Navanagar, Keshwapur, Kamaripet, Hubballi Town and Dharwad Suburban police stations have been externed from the district.

These history sheeters have been externed to Bengaluru, Kalaburagi, Mysuru and Mangaluru districts where they have to report regularly to the police stations of their residence respectively

He said that revising the list of history sheeter is a continuous process and those who have improved their behaviour and keep a clean record continuously would be dropped from the list and new violators will be added to the list.

To a query, he said that following regular review of the activities of history sheeters, they will soon be coming out with another list of externment.

He said that after review of the activities of a total of 1,800 history sheeters in the twin cities, they have dropped the names of 505 history sheeters, who returned to the mainstream by improving their conduct and remaining away from unlawful activities.

As of now 1,290 history sheeters are in Hubballi-Dharwad and the police are keeping an eye on their activities, he said.
