Student unions demand immediate release of admission schedule for degree colleges in A.P.

Leaders of various student organisations on Thursday urged the authorities to release the admission schedule for degree colleges in the State.

In a representation submitted to Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman K. Madhu Murthy, the student leaders said the delay was causing anxiety to students who had passed the Intermediate course and were waiting for the admission process to start.

Later, speaking to the media, they said following a call given by the student unions to stage a protest at the office of the APSCHE on Thursday, the authorities hurriedly released a G.O. on Wednesday night regarding admissions to degree colleges.

Students Federation of India (SFI) State secretary K. Prasanna Kumar, All-India Student Federation (AISF) State secretary B. Naser and Progressive Democratic Student Union (PDSU) State assistant secretary Rajesh said now that the G.O. was released, the admission schedule should not be delayed any more. They also demanded that the admission process be carried out in offline mode.

SFI State president P. Rammohan, PDSU State president Rafi and secretary Kiran, AISF State vice-president Naga Bhushanam were among those who met the APSCHE Chairman.
