The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) and the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) have come together to launch Vyuha Labs, a cyber innovation hub aimed at strengthening the fight against cybercrime and advancing digital security solutions.
The initiative, housed within IIIT Hyderabad campus, spans more than 3,000 square feet and is equipped with specialised tools and infrastructure dedicated to cybersecurity. It will act as a collaborative platform for start-ups, academia and industry, supporting the development of next-generation solutions designed to counter emerging cyber threats.
As part of a broader memorandum of understanding between TGCSB and IIIT-H, the hub will foster research, training, innovation and capacity building. It will also support entrepreneurs with mentorship and seed-stage opportunities, promote research in areas such as AI-driven threat detection and digital ecosystem protection, and strengthen the collaboration between industry experts and academic researchers.
Speaking at the inauguration, Telangana Director General of Police Jitender described cybercrime as one of the ‘fastest-evolving threats’ of modern times and stressed the need for collective innovation to address it. He said that Vyuha Labs would not only enhance Telangana’s digital security but also stand as a model for other states.
TGCSB director Shikha Goel said the hub will provide the necessary ecosystem for building sustainable and scalable digital safety tools. While IIIT Hyderabad director Sandeep Shukla added that cybersecurity is both a technological and societal issue. He expressed confidence that the hub would accelerate impactful innovations to protect both citizens and enterprises.
The hub was inaugurated by the DGP in the presence of senior police officials, members of IIIT Hyderabad’s leadership and industry representatives.
