HYDERABAD
Former minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao has requested the State government to focus on the deteriorating conditions in residential educational institutions and resolve the problems as four incidents of food poisoning have taken place during the last two days in different parts of the State.
He stated that food poisoning incidents had taken place in the model school at Nagalgidda in Narayankhed constituency of Sangareddy distrct, Pedda Kothapalli residential school in Nagarkurnool, Laxmipur residential school in Jagtial and Bhadrachalam residential school in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district. In a statement, Mr. Harish Rao said on Monday that the incidents were proof of the inefficient rule of the Congress.
The BRS leader sought to know whether such incidents were not coming to the notice of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy who is ever busy in tongue lashing at Opposition parties and leaders. He asked whether the Chief Minister was neglecting the residential educational institutions completely as part of his goal to âwipe out the imprints of KCR (former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao)â.
He suggested the government to shed its narrow-minded view which would result in denying quality education to backward classes, minorities, dalit and tribal communities. He sought to know whether Mr. Revanth Reddy had forgotten his word wherein he stated that he would personally monitor the functioning of residential schools/colleges, despite holding the portfolio of education.
Stating that over 100 students of residential schools/colleges had either committed suicide or died due to snakebites or due to incidents of food poisoning, Mr. Harish Rao asked loss of how many studentsâ lives would move the Chief Minister.
