Udupi police arrest two Madhya Pradesh residents in theft case

The Udupi police have arrested two residents of Madhya Pradesh, who were allegedly involved in the theft of ornaments worth approximately ₹17,000 and cash of ₹1,700 from a house in the Mission Compound of 76 Badagubettu village in Udupi taluk on July 20.

The police identified the accused as Bangada alias Bangu alias Ramesh Jawan Singh, 37, and Kaliya alias Kalu, 25, from the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. The police recovered 681.83 mg of silver ornaments, 470 mg of gold ornaments, and ₹1,700 in cash.

The police stated that Bangada and Kaliya were responsible for house burglaries, which mostly occurred on Saturdays and Sundays. Bangada was accused in 11 cases of theft, while Kaliya was accused in three theft cases. A search was under way for other accused in the case, the police said.
