As many as 40 candidates were allotted seats under the special category in undergraduate veterinary programmes in the counselling held recently.
According to a press release issued by Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Science University, a total of 167 candidates under the differently-abled, sports and ex-servicemen category were called and 91 candidates had turned up. Of them, 40 students were admitted under the special category.
Meanwhile, counselling for candidates under the 7.5% government school quota was held for academic and vocation streams in veterinary programmes. A total of 52 candidates were allotted seats. While a total of 366 students were called for counselling, only 218 candidates turned up.
