College student dies after falling from apartment balcony in Royapettah

A 20-year-old college student died after he reportedly fell from the sixth floor of a residential building in Royapettah on Wednesday (July 23, 2025). 

The City Police said the deceased S. Adithya was studying at a private engineering college near Tambaram. His father Sachin, a businessman who runs a shop on GP Road, resides on Masilamani Street in Royapettah.

On Wednesday night, Adithya was in his room at their apartment on the sixth floor of the building. As he was speaking over the phone, he accidentally fell from the balcony, the police said. Neighbours rushed him to the Government Royapettah Hospital for treatment but he died on the way. 

The Royapettah police have filed a case and are investigating.
