Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said he had come to Singapore to set the record straight and rebuild a transparent, investor-friendly environment, setting the tone for a crucial diplomatic and investment-oriented engagement with the Singapore Government on Day 2 of his official visit on Monday (July 28, 2027.)
In a high-level meeting with Dr. Tan See Leng, Singapore’s Minister for Manpower, Trade and Industry, Mr. Naidu openly acknowledged the setbacks investors from Singapore faced during the previous administration in Andhra Pradesh. He assured the Minister that his government is fully committed to creating a trustworthy and stable ecosystem for international investors.
“Our intention is not just to invite investments, but to restore credibility and ensure that those who believed in Andhra Pradesh in the past are treated with respect and fairness,” he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted his long-standing admiration for Singapore’s governance and urban models, reminding his hosts of the Singapore Township developed in Hyderabad during his earlier tenure. He explained how that admiration continues to shape his vision for Andhra Pradesh. “We even initiated night-time road-cleaning in Hyderabad inspired by Singapore,” he noted.

Mr. Naidu invited Dr. Tan to participate in the upcoming Global Investors Summit to be held in Visakhapatnam in November, emphasising the State’s focus on knowledge-based industries, human capital development and green energy transformation.
The Chief Minister outlined a range of opportunities for collaboration — particularly in areas such as green hydrogen, transmission corridors, port development, logistics infrastructure, and data center ecosystems. “Singapore is a global leader in logistics and urban innovation. Andhra Pradesh wants to learn from and partner with the best,” he said.

Mr. Tan See Leng responded positively, noting Singapore’s keen interest in partnering with Andhra Pradesh, particularly in renewable energy, submarine cable infrastructure, and affordable housing. He also recalled a previous meeting with Mr. Naidu in Hyderabad and expressed appreciation for Andhra Pradesh’s renewed investor-centric approach.
The meeting was attended by Ministers including Nara Lokesh, P. Narayana, and T.G. Bharat, along with officials from both sides.
