The Monsoon Session of the Delhi Assembly will begin from August 4, according to an order from the Assembly secretariat.

According to an official at the Speaker’s office, the session will be held for five days from August 4 to 8, but it could also be extended.

A Bill to regulate private school fees, which was passed as an ordinance, is expected to be discussed and passed during the upcoming session in the Assembly.

Meanwhile, after the three-day National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) training programme concluded last week, Speaker Vijender Gupta said that the Assembly has achieved full digital transition in 100 days ahead of the monsoon session.

Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, said that the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) will raise a series of urgent public issues during the upcoming Monsoon Session.

“In six months of BJP’s government, Delhi has been ruined-power cuts, rising school fees, demolishing homes of poor, towing cars of middle class off streets. From streets to Assembly, AAP will become voice of Delhi’s poor and marginalised. We will stand with those who are being silenced and abandoned by BJP government,” she said.
