Chairman and chief gastroenterologist, MedIndia Hospitals, Chennai T.S. Chandrasekar was honoured with the SGEI Pride of India Inaugural Award by the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India (SGEI) recently during the Silver Jubilee National Conference of the SGEI. Dr. Chandrasekar was honoured for his outstanding and pioneering contributions to the growth and development of the speciality of Gastrointestinal (GI) Endoscopy in India. The Padma Shri awardee has authored and published 14 teaching CDs in various advanced topics of G.I. endoscopy from over 24,000 advanced endoscopic surgical procedures performed over three decades. He has also published life-saving novel endoscopy troubleshooting techniques which are being followed globally, according to a press release.
