A man sustained injuries after being attacked with beer bottles by three men in Dundigal late on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Ramdas, alleged that his wife may have been behind the assault.
The incident unfolded when Ramdas accompanied one of the accused, Gopi, and two unidentified men to a wine shop in Dundigal. After consuming liquor, the trio allegedly turned on Ramdas and attacked him with beer bottles, leaving him for dead.
Following the incident, Ramdas approached the police the next day and filed a complaint, stating that he suspected his wife’s involvement in the attack.
Police officials confirmed that Ramdas had previously been booked in a domestic violence case filed by his wife.
The Bachupally police registered a zero FIR and subsequently transferred the case to Dundigal police for further investigation.
A search is currently underway to trace the three accused, while investigators are probing the possible role the woman in the assault.
