BSNL Visakhapatnam Business Area signed eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with startups and incubators in the Enterprise Business and Training Point segment under the ‘Kaushalam’ policy at the BSNL General Manager’s Office on Tuesday.

Representing BSNL were P. Paul William, Principal General Manager; G. Adam, PGM (Operations); M. Satya Prasad, Deputy General Manager; and B.S. Srinivas, Assistant General Manager, along with other DGMs, AGMs and CAOs.

On behalf of the startups and incubators, representatives including founders, CEOs, directors, advisors, team leaders, and consultants from their respective organisations participated. These MoUs are aimed at onboarding startups and incubators as Skill Solution Partners (SSPs) and Skill Development Partners (SDPs) to support enterprise business services through emerging and convergent technologies aligned with Industry 4.0.

The partnership will span specialised domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Internet of Things (IoT), Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication, Machine Learning (ML), Cybersecurity, Data Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Satellite Communications, Drone Technologies integrated with Digital Twin and Generative AI, as well as immersive technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), Extended Reality (XR), and Virtual Reality (VR).

Under the SDP framework, skill development programmes will also be implemented to provide hands-on training to undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma students in the aforementioned domains. These programmes will follow a revenue-sharing model and will be conducted in collaboration with domain experts.

Mr. Paul William stated that the MoUs would not only address the technological needs of industries with emerging solutions but also upgrade existing technological infrastructure. Mr. Adam reaffirmed the vision of the CMD, BSNL, and encouraged all associated companies to align with BSNL’s commitment to diversified service offerings and customer satisfaction.

Mr. Satya Prasad delivered a presentation highlighting BSNL Visakhapatnam’s contributions over the past eight years in skill development and the establishment of research and incubation centres at universities and colleges. He emphasised the strategic importance of these MoUs in driving Industry 4.0 and 5.0 automation initiatives, particularly in rolling out private 5G networks (CNPN) for ports, oil companies, mines, and airports.
