Hyderabad district is set to get 14 new Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs). District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari chaired a review meeting on Wednesday, where she directed officials to identify suitable land parcels and expedite the tendering process for the proposed centres.

The new UPHCs will be set up across three regions — six in Khairatabad zone, and four each in Charminar and Secunderabad Cantonment area zones. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to expand access to primary healthcare services in densely populated urban areas, the Collector said.

She asked the engineering teams of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the Revenue department to work in coordination to finalise sites measuring over 200 square yards for each health centre. She has set a deadline of one week for completing site identification and initiating the tendering process.

Officials have also been directed to attend a follow-up meeting on August 6 with all necessary documents in place.
