Eight senior jail officers transferred in Kerala

Eight senior officers across various jails in Kerala have been transferred in what prison authorities described as “a routine reshuffle.”

Kannur Central Jail Joint Superintendent N. Gireesh Kumar has been posted as Superintendent of Kasaragod District Jail. Kasaragod District Jail (Hosdurg) Superintendent V.V. Suraj will take charge as Superintendent of Kannur District Jail. Kannur District Jail Superintendent K.K. Rinil has been transferred to Kannur Central Jail following the order of Director General of Prisons.

Several other officers in different jails have also been reassigned or promoted as part of the transfer order.

Jail officials clarified that the transfers are part of “standard administrative procedure.”
