Police deployed 900 officials, six drones and 40 CCTV cameras in SPSR Nellore district to provide tight security during former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tour on Thursday (July 31, 2025). Already, they have served 2,000 notices to the YSRCP leaders in the district.

On Wednesday (July 30, 2025), Guntur Range Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sarvashresth Tripathi and In-charge Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar have briefed the police officers that all measures have been taken to prevent any security lapses. Special teams have been appointed for traffic control, security measures and maintenance of peace and security and continuous surveillance.
Later, another briefing was held for the personnel at Police Parade Ground. To prevent any untoward incident during the visit of the former Chief Minister, a strong bandobast was formed and a contingent plan for the movement of VVIP convoys in the routes. The police officials were asked to thoroughly conduct anti-sabotage checking with bomb and dog squads.

Earlier, the in-charge SP informed that Section 30 of the Police Act has been enforced in the district and no permission has been given to organise processions, meetings, bike rallies and roadshows. He warned that legal action will be taken if provocative slogans, banners and placards are used. He said that lodges, check posts and vehicles are being inspected.
As per the schedule, Mr. Mohan Reddy will reach Chemudugunta helipad on Thursday morning 10.30 a.m. (July 31, 2025) and from there he will meet former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy in Nellore Central Prison by 11 a.m. Later, he will go to the residence of former Kovur MLA Prasanna Kumar Reddy in Nellore Town by 11.50 a.m. and return back by 1 p.m.
