Man drowns in the Agniyar

Nabil, 22, son of Naina Mohammed of Adhiramapattinam, drowned in the Agniyar on Friday.

According to the police, the deceased and his friends went to Rajamadam area to have a bath in the river on August 1 morning and Nabil drowned while swimming in the river. On realising his absence, his friends frantically searched the river before seeking the help of the police and the Fire and Rescue Services personnel.

Later, Nabil’s body was fished out of the river by the Fire and Rescue Services personnel, the police added.
