Following the arrest of a Tamil teacher under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the police on Friday registered a case against four more teachers for not taking action on the students complaint.

Based on the complaint by the students of a government school in the Edappadi locality, the Sankagiri All Women’s Police arrested Tamil teacher V. Senthil Kumaravel (58) for sexually harassing students and remanded him in prison on Thursday.

Police investigations revealed that the headmistress, J. Seetha (54); assistant headmistresses P. Jayalakshmi (41), and S. Mallika (55); and physical education teacher S. Viji (46) had not taken action on the students complaints and tried to hide the issue.

Based on the investigation, the police registered a case against the four and are investigating further.
