The Special Investigation Team (SIT) continued its attempts to exhume alleged skeletal remains of people allegedly “killed and buried” in Dharmasthala on Day 4, Friday, but ended up with no remains being recovered. The SIT dug up spots 7 and 8, of the 13 shown by the whistleblower where he claimed to have buried bodies, on Friday, but this yielded no results.
On Thursday, SIT found partial skeletal remains when they dug up spot 6, the only place they have recovered remains. Before that, digging at five spots left them empty handed.
Forensic analysis
Meanwhile, the skeletal remains found on Thursday will first be subjected to an autopsy and later sent for forensic analysis at Forensic Science Laboratory, Madiwala, Bengaluru. The remains will likely be sent to Victoria Hospital for an autopsy, sources said.
