A police team on highway patrol, in a surprise operation, seized ₹26.4 lakh from motorists proceeding to Kerala on a two-wheeler on Saturday morning.

The police team attached to Madukkarai Station intercepted Ambul Hakeem (49) and Abdul Rehman (38) and found the cash and imitation jewellery bangles in a bag they were carrying to Thrissur.

Since the duo did not possess documents for the cash, they were taken to the K.G. Chavadi Police Station for questioning.
