Two juveniles were arrested in Thoothukudi on Saturday in connection with murders of two brothers from Kovilpillai Nagar.
The case came to light on Thursday evening when passers-by alerted police to dogs feasting on a hand near Uppar odai. Thermal Nagar police rushed to the spot and discovered a buried body in the area.
The body was exhumed on Friday in the presence of Assistant Superintendent of Police Madhan and Thoothukudi Tahsildhar Muralidharan.
During the exercise, the police found another body buried in the pit. After the on-the-spot postmortem, both the bodies were sent to Government Thoothukudi Medical College and Hospital.
Investigation revealed that two brothers, P. Maripandi, 35, and P. Arulraj, 30, were murdered by Rithan, 25, who suspected that Maripandi and Arulraj were the reason for one of his brothers ending his life recently.
The police arrested Rithan and his friends Mohammed Meeran, M. Shankar and S, Sathish on Friday. On Saturday, the police also arrested two juveniles who are friends of Rithan, for their alleged involvement in the crime.
