After a brief lull, rainfall returned to Telangana on Monday (August 4, 2025). It is expected to continue over the next four days. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms, heavy showers, lightning, and gusty winds across the State.

According to Telangana Development Planning Society’s data recorded from 8.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m, the highest of 28 mm was observed in Manchal mandal of Rangareddy.

On Monday (August 4, 2025) thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected at isolated locations in 24 districts including Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bongir, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts, according to IMD.

Forecast for next four days

According to its weather bulletin released on Monday afternoon, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely to occur at isolated locations in all 33 districts of Telangana on Tuesday.

The intensity of the weather system was forecast to increase on Wednesday (August 6, 2025) with heavy rainfall likely at isolated places in Nagarkurnool and Jogulamba Gadwal districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also expected across all districts on the same day. The forecast continues into Thursday and Friday, with either heavy rain or thunderstorms likely to impact the entire state.

For Hyderabad and surrounding areas, for the next 48 hours, the IMD has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds.
