A blood donation camp was organised by the Naval Science & Technological Laboratory (NSTL) on Tuesday, August 5, as part of its 56th Lab Raising Day Celebrations-2025 (LRDC-2025). The camp was jointly conducted by the Social Service Committee of LRDC-2025, NSTL Works Committee, and NSTL Civilian Employees Union, in association with AS Raja Blood Bank.
NSTL Director Abraham Varughese inaugurated the camp and expressed satisfaction at the increasing voluntary participation of NSTL employees. He lauded the donors for their contribution.
Chairman and Secretary of the Social Service Committee, G.N.V.S. Kasi Visweswara Rao and Gaurav Kumar Prajapati, highlighted NSTL’s ongoing commitment to conducting blood donation drives on various occasions, thereby helping maintain a steady supply of blood for medical emergencies.
A 19-member team from AS Raja Blood Bank, including Dr. A. Sugandhi, Dr. Geeta Viswanathan, Dr. K. Aruna, and Dr. Radha Swaroop Rani, supervised the camp along with NSTL’s Principal Medical Officer, Surgeon Lt. Cdr. Sourav Chakraborty, and his medical team. Chairperson of LRDC-2025 P.K. Pattnayak; Social Service Committee members E.B. Appa Rao, K. Krishna Rao, B. Padmaja, Nitesh Kumar Srivastava, T. Babu Rao, Balram Kumar, Samdarsi Kumar, and D. Mohan Reddy; NSTL Civilian Employees Union president Akiri Suneel; Works Committee Secretary G. Nagabhushanam; and other members also participated in the programme.
A total of 160 personnel and their family members donated blood during the camp.
