The Shastri Nagar Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly sexually harassing a woman in Besant Nagar on Sunday night.
Police sources said the youth identified as K Sai Giridharan, 25, is a resident of Velachery. On Sunday night, he went to Besant Nagar beach along with his friends.
Around 9.15 p.m., while they were walking in an inebriated condition at the junction of 6th Avenue and 3rd Main Road, he intentionally bumped into a 25-year-old woman, who was working at a private firm, and had come to Besant Nagar with her friends, the police said.
When she questioned him, he mocked her instead of apologising. She lodged a police complaint and Sai was arrested on Sunday.
After an inquiry, he was sent to judicial remand on Monday.
