The police have impounded as many as 15 motorcycles that were reportedly misused by students without essential documents in rural Kozhikode. Sources said a majority of the impounded vehicles were from Perambra and surrounding villages.
The details of underage riders who allegedly used the vehicles for road stunts were collected for legal action. Police sources said they would soon identify the original owners of the vehicle, and that the details would be handed over to the Motor Vehicles department (MVD).
Police officers from the Perambra station who conducted the flash check on Thursday (August 7) said many of the motorcycles did not have valid registration certificates, insurance coverage, and pollution under control certificates.
