GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg has instructed Superintending Engineer K.V.N. Ravi to speed up the ongoing works related to the round-the-clock drinking water supply project in the city. The project is being funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Mr. Garg, along with the engineers of the Water Supply Department, inspected the project works at Madhavadhara on Friday and conducted a detailed review.
He directed the Superintending Engineer to take immediate action to ensure that the pending works are completed promptly. “All project works must be completed by December 31, 2025,” he said.
He said that the round-the-clock water supply has started in Madhavadhara, Murali Nagar, and Marripalem. Around 5,000 drinking water connections have been provided to consumers in these areas.
He instructed that water bills be prepared based on the actual consumption and the necessary technical arrangements be made to record these bills in the ERP module. To create public awareness, he suggested that sample bills be issued in advance.
The GVMC Commissioner instructed the officials to conduct a comparative study on the water usage of consumers under the 24×7 supply versus the earlier supply pattern, to analyse the difference in consumption.
