BJP national general secretary (organisation) B. L. Santhosh and party in-charge for the Union Territory Nirmal Kumar Surana on Saturday met new office-bearers of the party’s Puducherry unit. The meeting held at the BJP office was attended by Home Minister A. Namassivayam, former Minister A. K. Sai J. Saravanan Kumar, legislators and senior functionaries.

Two months ago, former legislator V. P. Ramalingam was appointed president of the BJP’s Puducherry unit. The party had also made several key appointments in the organisational structure.

“The party leadership wanted to get feedback about various organisational aspects and the political situation in the Union Territory. We have also received inputs about the works to be done to strengthen the party before the Assembly poll,” a leader told The Hindu
