Tulasi Das appointed Visakhapatnam district president of AIBSP

Maddu Tulasi Das has been appointed as the Visakhapatnam district president of the All India Bahujan Samaj Party (AIBSP) at a function, here, on Sunday.

AIBSP national coordinator J. Purnachandra Rao handed him the appointment letter and lauded his dedication to the cause of backward and oppressed communities. He said that those who rise from humble beginnings were often the ones who truly stand up for the marginalised.

Mr. Rao called upon leaders like Mr. Tulasi Das to intensify the struggle for the rights of BCs, SCs, and STs and to ensure that the underprivileged secure their rightful place in governance and society. He expressed hope that under Mr. Tulasi Das’ leadership the region’s downtrodden communities would be empowered and their voices amplified.

AIBSP State Coordinator Baka Paranjyoti and other senior leaders were present at the function.

Mr. Tulasi Das hails from Buragam village of Sompeta mandal in Srikakulam district. He completed his primary education in Buragam, his intermediate education in Sompeta, and earned a B.Sc. in Agriculture from Bapatla, as well as an M.Sc. in Agriculture from Hyderabad. He began his career as a direct officer in the State Bank and served as a branch manager in various cities, including Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Coimbatore, and Chennai.

He worked as a Regional Manager in Hyderabad, Eluru, and Bhimavaram, and later retired as an Assistant General Manager. He is known for his strong understanding of the people, their socio-economic conditions, and aspirations.
