IIT-Madras students take part in BIS orientation programme

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Chennai, organised a student chapter orientation programme for IIT-Madras Civil Engineering Department students in the city on Friday. The students were told about various initiatives of the student chapter, including standards clubs, capsule courses, internship opportunities, exposure visits and competitions. They learnt about various aspects of the BIS website, such as providing comments on draft standards, joining sectional committees and participating in research and development projects. Students also visited the BIS Southern Regional Office laboratory.
