The Superintendent of Police A. Myilvaganan flagged off a marathon at Chittoor bus stop in Katpadi in Vellore on Saturday as part of “Drugs Free TN” campaign.
According to a press release, volunteers above 15 years of age were allowed to participate in the marathon. As part of the campaign, a pledge against drugs and other banned products were taken by participants led by Mr. Myilvaganan.
Most of the participants were students, teachers, social activists, green club members and police personnel. The seven-km-run ended at Netaji stadium behind Vellore fort complex. Collector V. R. Subbulaxmi honoured winners with prizes and certificates, the release said.
