VELLORE

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and Sri Narayani Hospital and Research Centre (SNHRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at VIT campus in Vellore to foster collaboration in healthcare research and education.

According to a press release, the agreement was presided over by G. Viswanathan, founder and chancellor, VIT, in the presence of Balaji Nandagopal, Director and Trustee, Sri Narayani Group of Institutions. Geetha Manivasagam, dean, VIT’s School of Healthcare Sciences and Engineering, welcomed the gathering.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Viswanathan highlighted the potential of the partnership of the agreement. It will enable VIT faculty and Sri Narayani Hospital’s medical professionals to collaborate on research and development in healthcare.

He said that it will facilitate the transfer of advanced research knowledge to future engineers and students. VIT’s undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students will gain access to clinical training, project opportunities, student exchange programs, professional training, and collaborative research at Sri Narayani Hospital.

Additionally, doctors from the hospital can pursue custom PhD programs at VIT, and both institutions can jointly undertake cutting-edge research projects funded by VIT and external funding agencies, he said.

On the occasion, Sekar Viswanathan, vice-president, VIT, was present.
