
Hindustani vocal concert by Kumar Mardur of Dharwad performing during the Swaradhara Music Festival held in Mangaluru on Sunday

Hindustani vocalist Kumar Mardur had the audience spellbound with the rendition of Shri Raghavendra bhajan, a composition of Jagannatha Dasaru, on the first day of his three-day ‘Aradhanotsava’ at the Swaradhara Music Festival, organised by Kalasadhana Mangaluru on Sunday.
The son of renowned vocalist Somanath Mardur started the concert with the composition Mayiri Shyam Sundar in Raag ‘Puriya Kalyan’. He then presented the composition Shyam Nahi Aaye More Ghar, which was followed by a ‘Tarana’.
Mr. Mardur also presented the popular Kannada bhajan Hare Venkata Shaila Vallabha. He ended his two-hour-long concert by presenting Bhavani Stuti of reformer Shankaracharya. He was ably accompanied by Akshay Joshi on tabla and Satish Bhat Heggar on harmonium.
