The pre-paid autorickshaw counters at the Ernakulam Town and South railway stations have resumed operations.
The counters were discontinued for a while. Autorickshaws in front of the Town and South railway stations with QR codes are being used for the service. The e-Pos system has been introduced for more efficient billing.
Passengers will be issued slips with details of the autorickshaw, fare, and link for lodging complaints. Autorickshaws with cart licence from the Indian Railways will be deployed under the pre-paid counter system. Separate rates have been fixed for daytime and night services.
The round-the-clock pre-paid counter will function under the direct supervision of the Kochi City West traffic enforcement unit. Train passengers will highly benefit from the service. The deputy manager of the Town railway station can be contacted at 95678-69376 for cart licence and temporary cart licence. While cart licences will be issued to autorickshaws with city permits, the rest will be issued temporary cart licences.
The public can lodge traffic-related complaints through WhatsApp under the Traffic Eye system, a round-the-clock initiative of the Kochi City West Traffic enforcement unit through the number 63281-00100. Images and videos can be forwarded with complaints.
