Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Monday (August 11, 2025) sharpened his attack on the “tainted” Ministers of the Mahayuti government and accused Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of “shielding the corrupt” in his Cabinet.
Speaking at a protest rally – ‘Jan Akrosh Morcha’ – in Mumbai, Mr. Thackeray sought the removal of “corrupt” Ministers, saying his party will continue to raise the issue until they are sacked. The Opposition party has been demanding the resignation of Ministers Yogesh Kadam, Sanjay Shirsat, Sanjay Rathod, all belonging to the ruling Shiv Sena, and Manikrao Kokate of the NCP.
“Why was no action taken against any of these Ministers when enough proof is available. The CM has constantly ignored corruption allegations against his Ministers,” Mr. Thackeray said.
Referring to some of the controversies involving the Ministers, Mr. Thackeray said, “While one Minister was caught playing [online] rummy in the Assembly, some others are busy with dance bars and sealing deals.” Mr. Kadam has been accused by the Sena (UBT) of running a dance bar with a permit in his mother’s name, a charge denied by the Minister.
