A war of words has erupted between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP C. Sadanandan and Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] Kerala State secretariat member M.V. Jayarajan, with both launching sharp personal attacks on each other.
Responding to Mr. Jayarajan’s remarks at a political meeting organised by the CPI(M) Pazhassi South local committee at Uruvachal to discuss the imprisonment of eight party workers in an alleged murder attempt on Mr. Sadanandan, the latter wrote in a Facebook post that the CPI(M) leader’s “army” would not be enough to prevent his political rise.

“Fold up the threat and put it in the cupboard,” wrote Mr. Sadanandan, adding that “the blessings of thousands of families” were with him.
Mr. Sadanandan alleged that the CPI(M) cadres acted on party leaders’ order to “use bombs and swords”, adding that “prison is the rightful place for such behaviour.” He said he became a Rajya Sabha member by order of the President.
The rebuttal came after Mr. Jayarajan had likened Mr. Sadanandan to BJP leader Pragya Singh Thakur and questioned “whether someone involved in a criminal case should hold parliamentary office.” Mr. Jayarajan warned that “no one should assume they could imprison CPI(M) workers and walk around freely, thinking they have become an MP.”
Jayarajan slams RSS
In the same event, Mr. Jayarajan also criticised the RSS, accusing it of using Governors in non-BJP rules States to further its agenda.
He also praised Education Minister V. Sivankutty for walking out of an event in Raj Bhavan earlier amid the Bharat Mata row.
