The Supreme Courtâs decision to hand over the probe into the case of daylight murder of my son Gattu Vaman Rao and daughter-in-law Nagamani, both lawyers, at Ramagiri in Peddapalli district in 2021, to the CBI will help unearth the double murder plot and bring the masterminds behind the heinous offence to justice, said Gattu Kishan Rao, father of Vaman Rao.
The apex courtâs direction has paved the way for a fair and impartial probe into the brutal murder of the lawyer-couple, Mr. Kishan Rao told The Hindu over phone.
âThose arrested in the case so far are only hired assassins and the real culprits, who plotted and executed the gruesome double murder, have still not been arrested,â he said.
The âperpetratorsâ of the cold-blooded double murder had gone âscot-freeâ during the previous government because of their âpolitical cloutâ, he alleged.
It may be mentioned that the gruesome murder of the lawyer-couple on February 17, 2021, sparked widespread outrage within the members of the legal fraternity demanding an impartial probe to ensure stringent punishment to the culprits.
Manthani Bar Association had earlier sought a CBI inquiry into the twin murders.
The then main Opposition Congress leaders demanded a court-monitored CBI inquiry into the double murder case blaming the BRS government for what they termed its âfailureâ to provide protection to the lawyer couple who received threat calls.
