
Hyderabadâs IT Hub received rain on Wednesday (August 13, 2025) morning

Residents of Hyderabad and its surrounding areas woke up to a cloudy start, and rains gradually set in across the city on Wednesday (August 13, 2025) morning. Many areas, especially western part of the city, were covered by heavy to light showers.
Localities including Hitech City, Ameerpet, Golconda, Lingampally, Madhapur and Gajulramaram were among the areas which recorded rainfall. Waterlogging was reported at Sri Ram Nagar from Masjidbanda towards Botanical Garden.

Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) showed a sharp increase in rainfall across Hyderabad by Wednesday afternoon. While Ramachandrapuram and Patancheru had recorded only 3 mm until 11 a.m., data at 12 p.m. revealed much heavier showers in other areas. Dabeerpura recorded 24.5 mm rainfall followed by 23.3 mm in Khajaguda, 21.3 mm in Malakpet, 21 mm in Gachibowli, 19.3 mm in University of Hyderabad, 19 mm in Chandanagar, 18.8 mm in Nampally, 18.5 mm in Goshamahal, 16.3 mm in Shaikpet, 15.5 mm in Mehdipatnam, 15 mm in Langar Houz, 14.5 mm in Lingampally, 14.3 mm in Yakuthpura and 13.3 mm in Chandrayangutta.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police took to X, urging citizens to avoid non-essential travel. âAvoid sudden brakes, follow traffic signals, please drive carefully and maintain a safe distance,â they said.
At around 11 a.m., the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert, warning of light to moderate rains or thundershowers likely over the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits in the next two hours.
