TNUEF and Chennai Kalai Kuzhu to perform play on enforcement of SC/ST Act in the state

The Tamil Nadu Untouchability Eradication Front (TNUEF) and Chennai Kalai Kuzhu would perform a play titled ‘Pattangil Ullapadi’, based on case studies of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, enforcement in Tamil Nadu. The play would be performed across 20 districts over 10 days from August 16 to August 25.

The ‘Kalai Payanam’ would begin at Thoothukudi and conclude in Thanjavur on August 25. The artists would perform in 40 centres across Tamil Nadu. They would be accompanied by folk dance groups and vocal performers. TNUEF would organise this journey before its state conference on August 31 and September 1 in Mayiladuthurai.

Districts that host the play are Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai Urban and Suburban (Maanagar & Puranagar), Theni, Dindugal, Karur, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Salem, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Nagappattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvaarur and Thanjavur.
