CPI (M) general secretary M.A. Baby visits Polavaram-displaced tribal pockets in Andhra Pradesh

Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary M.A. Baby on Saturday (August 16) visited the tribal pockets and rehabilitation colonies of the Polavaram Irrigation Project in Rampachodavaram Agency in Alluri Sitarama Raju district. 

“The two-day visit includes inspecting of the Polavaram project Resettlement and Rehabilitation colonies and their construction status. We will also visit the Polavaram irrigation project site,” Mr. Baby told newsmen at Rajahmundry airport The CPI (M) leaders led by Mr. Baby plan to travel to the villages to be rehabilitated in the Chintoor Agency along the banks of river Sabari and Godavari. CPI (M) Central Committee member K. Lokanadham, East Godavari district secretary T. Arun and persons displaced by the Polavaram project accompanied Mr. Baby.
